Republican lawmakers step up with plan for safe restart of economy
Republicans in the state Senate and House of Representatives today shared the first plan for safely restarting Washington’s economy while state government’s response to the COVID-19 emergency continues.
“Employers across our state are looking to government for a strategy that starts to take the brake off the economy. Republicans have come through with a safe and reasonable approach for beginning the recovery,” said Senate Republican Leader Mark Schoesler.

Gov. Jay Inslee entered into a “Western States Pact” with California and Oregon – an “agreement on a ‘shared vision’ for reopening their economies and controlling COVID-19 into the future…agreed to work together on a shared approach for reopening our economies – one that identifies clear indicators for communities to restart public life and business.” He should be talking to the State Legislators, who represent the people across our own State – not to other States where we have no voice!
Governor Inslee signs Facial Recognition Technology Services bill
Washington State Governor Jay Inslee (D) signed Senate Bill SB 6280 on March 31, 2020, an Act relating to the use of facial recognition services; adding a new section to chapter 9.73 RCW; adding a new chapter to Title 43 RCW; creating a new section; and providing an expiration date. This new bill expands on a previous facial recognition law already in effect.

I wish to state my opinion regarding what I have been informed is a current decline in public confidence within the Sequim community for City Council members Troy Tenneson and William Armacost. And this is with specific reference to the very public debate over the Medication Assisted Treatment facility (MAT clinic) proposed by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe.

SOS Attorney files MAT appeal
Sequim, WA – Seattle attorney Michael A. Spence, of Helsell and Fetterman LLP, filed an appeal to the City of Sequim, February 12, on behalf of Save our Sequim (SOS).
The appeal, which included $600 for the “hearing examiner,” was delivered by SOS representative Jodi Wilke, who was joined by Robin Pangborn and Rose Marschall.
