Editor,

Last Thursday the Sequim City Attorney, Kristina Nelson-Gross, signed a Stipulation for the City of Sequim which settled certain issues related to the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) clinic proposed by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe. That Settlement document is on the Sequim City website and states, as item (i)

“Patients who do not have personal or pre-arranged transportation will be provided transportation to and from the clinic.”

No geographic limit is specified; thus, the Tribe can provide transportation to and from the MAT clinic for patients living in Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, or elsewhere. Yet the Tribe stated, in its initial application for State funding, that the MAT clinic would treat only patients from Clallam and Jefferson Counties.

Did the Sequim City Council authorize this action by the City Attorney?
