False alarmism on global warming

The Wednesday, Oct. 2, the Seattle Times article “Climate change threatens health in Pacific Northwest” in the Peninsula Daily News is full of deceptions and unfounded claims. The cause of more smoke in our area is not climate change, but grossly inadequate forest management.

Citizens rally to protest MAT facility at Sequim City Hall

Sequim, WA – As the weather cooperated, over 200 people gathered at City Hall, October 28th to make their statements about the proposed Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) facility, behind Costco and other businesses.

Members of Save Our Sequim (SOS) , an organization of approximately 3,000 members since June, held signs to send a message to the City Council that they do not want the facility built at that location.

Sequim citizens pack city council chambers

The Sequim City hall again lacked adequate seating for about 100 citizens who attended the bi-monthly meeting, on September 23, 2019. Many people gathered to give testimony about the projected Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Clinic. Approximately 20 acres has been purchased on South 9th Street, near the Costco store, as well as many other businesses.

“Under the Tent” festivities raise funds for Save Our Sequim organization

Sequim WA…The George Washington Inn, in Agnew, provided a nice setting as Save our Sequim (SOS) enthusiasts joined with more than 1,000 people to enjoy the day and raise funds for the ongoing battle to win back their town and make it safe.

A large tent accommodated the many guests as Dysfunction Junction Bluegrass Band, from Seattle, performed. Kokopelli’s food truck supplied a variety of excellent food. Later in the day, “The Sidekicks Band’” from Sequim provided a variety of Western music.

County Board of Health issues letters of support for MAT Clinic

The Clallam County Board of Health which includes county commissioners Bill Peach, Randy Johnson and Mark Ozias met September 17th to approve a letter of Support, for the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) clinic, near the center of Sequim, on South 9th Street, which also borders Highway 101. The letter is being sent to the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Council.
